Compliance with Part L2 and Section 6
Tas was the first DSM to be approved for L2 calculations, and the consultancy department is experienced in modelling a wide range of building types and systems. Tas is also accredited for Section 6 of Scottish Building Regulations. Along with an EPC this is a requirement for new builds in the UK.
The Part L2 analysis works, by modelling and simulating the building and then comparing it to the notational and reference buildings, which Tas software produces for you automatically at run time for the assessment. It then calculates two statistics TER (target emssion rate) and BER (building emission rate), to pass the Part L2, BER<TER, and also the materials used in the construction must also comply with the regulations. For more information see the government’s building regulations.
Tas calculates whether the CO2 emissions of a building comply with Part L2 as well as determining whether the constructions and services are compliant. If the building fails to comply then we can suggest areas for improvement.
